The Face Corporation stands for originality in every aspect of life. We’re not against conformity, just conforming in your own style. Our name comes from this belief, but ties in so many other ideas along the way.
America has become programmed. Corporation’s control politics, the economy - the world. If you want to go really far in your career, you need to be a suit; be a yes man; be willing to agree with anything to get ahead…essentially be FACEless.
Derek created the Face Corporation for the rational - not the anarchists, not the trendy, not even the “we think we aren’t being trendy but actually are going along with a new trend” people. We belong to no party. We look at each situation as it’s own, weighing the pros and cons, seeing things from the opposing side, using a common sense approach. As simple as that sounds, it’s so rarely practiced. With the world mostly motivated by selfishness and greed, things like patience, honesty, and a sense of self-responsibility are no longer emphasized.
Yet in a world of fakeness, the human face can tell us more about others than any other body part. Facial expressions dictate our lives - our conversations, how we’re perceived, what we REALly feel. Our faces can sometimes be the only thing keeping criminals-husbands and liars-saints.
How does this tie into music? In everyway. The Face Corporation believes if you’re voice can be heard, say something useful. It could make a real difference, no matter how small. Even if it’s just that kid who decides he wants to write melodies in his room, a woman realizing originality is not lost, or that guy whose now driving home happy knowing he’s not the “only one out there“. The Face Corporation’s not trying to change America as much as it’s trying to restore it. We’ve advanced in gender/race relations but losing our common courtesy, we’ve become wealthy while getting lazier. And with conventional radio being as money driven as politics, and shows like American Idol captivating millions, this country is in musical dire straits (pun intended). How are many of our best selling artists not even musicians? Or why must every hit song be some formula of a intro/chorus, verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus/outro?
When it’s all said and done, we believe at the Face Corporation that our Fore Fathers - our four apostles - John, Paul, George, and Ringo started something original in rock music, and it was never carried on to today. Well consider T.F.C the second coming.
