Don Amero is a singer/songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He grew up with with both his parents instilling a musical passion in him. His Dad is a Bluegrass/ Country guitar player and his Mom is a beautiful singer with one of the most amazing unsolicited voices. Both parents had the ability to take their talents to the next level, but because of life circumstances they never did take the time to try. This fueled Don''s passion to never give up and try as hard as he could to become a full time musician. He began performing in his High School days landing the lead rolls in all of the productions. Since his Dad played guitar, Don picked up a few tips here and there, but most of his playing ability has been self taught. Writing songs became a closet hobby of his and soon enough he tried his hand at a local cafe to take the songs to the test, he was 21 at that time. Over the next few years Don spent his time in and out of bands and jobs all the while continuing on the solo singer/songwriter trail. He released his first CD in October 2006 titled “Change Your Life” which went on to be nominated for 5 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards 2007 and 2 nominations in 2008. Also the single "Freight Train" went to the #1 spot in the spring of 2007 on the National Aboriginal Countdown. And then took the leap of faith on September 15th 2007 as he walked off his day job (Hardwood Flooring Installer) and made that the day he would pursue a full time music career. To date he has played over 200 shows since then and hasn''t looked back since. His second CD titled "Deepening" was released on February 27th, 2009 and will be followed up with a cross Canada tour May and June of 2009.
