ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

The band Gandhi was formed in 1993 in San José, Costa Rica. Their singer and guitarist were friends in high school, and after taking the time to share their ideas, dreams, and musical tastes, their four members felt the chemistry between them and saw the potential they had as a band. They released their first independent album which contained only original compositions, and Gandhi is now an established rock band based in Costa Rica with a huge fan base in and out of Costa Rica. They have released 4 albums and continue writing, performing, and taking their music to new audiences.

They named themselves ''Gandhi'' to reach people in a positive way even before they listened to their music. Their songs are all in Spanish, and their lyrics talk about reality in an abstract, fantastic way. Their music is a fusion of progressive, hard rock, and tropical rhythms, but with a latin soul.
