Xacobe MartÃnez Antelo declares himself as self-taught. He started playing music when he was 13, and he spent the last 20 years in the music scene. This active and enthusiast double bass player from Compostela doesn´t have much time for boredom due to his constant and numerous activities in the music field. His projects speak for themselves: Clan Moriarty, 3 pies, Sumrrá, La Tirana, Cool Hamster, Bi, Banda Baliza, Midnight Cool ,Monkillos,.. as well as his collaborations with : Narf, Mercedes Peón, Ultranoites at Sala Nasa, Marful, Chévere, Carlos Blanco, Terela GradÃn, Marcelino Galán, https://www.tradebit.com Band, Imaxina Jazz Orquestra, UxÃa, Guadi Galego etc…
In 2006 he presents his first Project as a Quintet with his name including an album: “Isto é Jazz!!!†Now, in 2009, he presents his own TrÃo....

He began in the world of Galician folk music bands. He obtained his degree in saxophone playing by the ¨real sociedad de amigos del pais¨. At the same time he finished his teaching certificate in music. Later on he would finish a professional diploma in modern music read in the school ¨Estudio¨. He represents that school in several jazz meetings : Coruña, Madrid, Zarautz e Bassano (Italy). In Bassano he won a grant to study in The New School University where he is studying currently with the best qualifications. Among his professors we must mention :Antonio Hart, Dick Oatts, Vincent Herring, Reggie Workman, Buster Williams, Andres Gomis, Abe Rabade, Paco Charlin, Perico Sambeat Bob Sands, Seamus Blake, Cennet Johnson, Suso Atanes, Bobby Sanabria.
In the U.S.A. he has performed with various artists in many recordings and sessions. He is a member of Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra with whom he performed in the Jazz Lincoln Centre.

With just 24 years, we are in front of one of the most solicitated musicians in the Galiza jazz Scene. He studied with Paco CharlÃn, Bruno Pedroso, Ramón Ãngel Rey, Abe Rábade or Luis Alberto RodrÃguez. Incide of the SPJ, he played with Perico Sambeat, VÃctor de Diego, Zé Eduardo, Joao Moreira, Carlos Barretto or Albert Bover. Some of the Master Classes he were at: José Luis Gámez, MÃkel Andueza, Chris Kase, Jo Krause, Lluis Vidal, Mulgrew Miller, Greg Bisonette, etc...
