Details:
Awkward! Poppy! Catchy! Fun! A Trifle Annoying!

It all began rather innocently in a typical middle-class garage two and a half decades ago. That, my friends, was a long time ago. President Reagan was alive and serving in the White House providing political fodder for a generation of suburban punks. Concord California''s Three Dimensional Blackboard is a band that has been in existence since the early 1980''s. Founding brothers David and Stephen Ginochio have been the constants in the band, as well as its heart and soul. Brother Dave''s lead vocals and keyboards, combined with Brother Steve''s vocal harmonies and drumming, have established a distinct harmonic pop-rock sound that can at times draw comparisons to other famous California brother pop-rock luminaries. Think of them as the Beach Boys without all of those other annoying brothers, petulant cousins, and abusive parents getting in the way. Or you could compare them to The Carpenters, except for the fact they are both brothers, share a fondness for actually eating and digesting their food, and sound very little like the Carpenters. They also were one time members of the "California Branch" of Atlanta''s LMNOP, in 1988.

Honed on the sounds of equal parts late 60''s pop (Beatles, Love, Beach Boys) and early 80''s new wave (Echo & The Bunnymen, XTC, and REM), the Brothers Ginochio (or Bee Gees for short) have maintained a steady course navigating the Sea of Pop (sadly no world maps make note of the existence of this body of water). Recorded in their mom''s living room on Spartan equipment, they are joined on this effort by like minded musical merrymakers including Eric Warmerdam, who provides stellar guitar strumming as well as contributing music for "Shield". Virtuoso bassist Bob Shannon''s playing channels the spirit of Colin Moulding (it must be noted that Mr. Moulding is not actually dead). Young, idealistic Bobby is currently serving time in Peace Corps. Also featured is the fretwork of the supremely talented Perry Akins, as well as some amazing axework from an old friend, and musical collaborator, the über talented David Kloski.

The resultant recording is not a "School Of Rock-esque" endeavor to deny their middle-aged-ness in an pathetic attempt at one last shot at "making it." It''s merely a sparsely recorded memento of some catchy as hell short little pop songs that Three Dimensional Blackboard hopes will creep into your psyche and have you singing along for days on end. Ok, it might be slightly pathetic.
