The CD “Touchdown President Obama” was produced and released by Ramotringo, out of Miami Fl. He is originally from the beautiful twin-island country of Trinidad and Tobago; famous as the country that invented the steelpan and where calypso and soca music originated. The name “Ramotringo” comes from a nickname his friends gave him as a teenager---- Ramo, plus a shortened version of Trinidad and Tobago----hence “Ramotringo”. After being a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic for more than thirteen years; he migrated to the USA, where he settled in Miami and began writing and recording Calypso and Soca music. During the 2008 presidential election campaign he recorded and released a song titled “Vote Obama”; videos of which can be seen by searching for Ramotringo on https://www.tradebit.com. The song “Vote Obama” was re-recorded with some lyrical changes after the elections and is now listed as “It’s Obama”, on this present CD. For people who are not familiar with Calypso and Soca music; the rhythmic, pulsating, infectious beat of this CD, will have you dancing the first time you hear it.
