Details:
Nat JM is often compared to The Slits and The Raincoats for her quirky vocals and dissonant music, but this EP presents such a diverse and complex range of songs that this comparaison feels somewhat limiting. From the 7/4 dancy beat of "Closer to you" to the punk pop guitars of "Cheater", those 7 songs have one thing in common: they are unique.

As a songwriter, Nat JM is always willing to push the envelope, managing to sneak in a 9/4 verse on the upbeat and cheerful "Chirpy Wheels", and enlisting a young singer (Sian White) on "when you smile". As a performer and producer, energy and spontaneity prevail.

These songs are a trip down the back street, where the outcasts and the great thinkers hang out, where the real culture is happening unknown to the crowds, where it isn''t about sports and clothes but about feelings and thoughts, where it''s OK to be shy and scared and vulnerable. The back street of the mind, the back street all of us wish existed, the back street the teenage girl from "partners in fun" is looking for.

A self proclaimed geek, Nat JM decided to reclaim the insult of her youth in "geek got the blues", and to express her fears and anger in "the whole way".
