Willie Wilcox began his professional music career as a drummer. Willie''s first gig was recording & touring with Daryl Hall & John Oates. The first recorded album "War Babies" featured the production skills of the multi- talented producer songwriter Todd Rundgren. The making of this Rundgren produced CD for Hall & Oates would lead to a later sharing of talents between Rundgren and Wilcox. But Bette Midler would be next on the timeline. "Clams On The Half Shell," a Broadway show extravaganza in true Bette Midler style! The show featured Willie Wilcox on drums with Bette''s big band and also featured legendary Jazz artist Lionel Hampton! After 6 months of shows on Broadway with Bette, Wille was invited to join the group "Utopia" founded by Todd Rundgren. World tours, recording, writing, producing and singing would span a 15-year period. In between Utopia''s schedule Willie provided guest appearances recording with such artists as; Meatloaf "Bat Out Of Hell," "Transvision Vamp" & "Mick Jagger." Willie''s song collaborations were featured on records by; "Luther Vandross," "Natalie Cole," "Stacey Q," "Meatloaf" & the "Pointer Sisters!"

Composing for Television
When Utopia officially stopped touring Willie opened Lincoln Road Studios in Miami. It was an audio postproduction company specializing in Music for Television. The clients consisted of MTV, Coca Cola, Target, Americas Most Wanted & AT&T. Radio MTV would be produced at the Lincoln Road Facility for the following two years.

NBC Universal
The next invitation would come from NBC /Universal Television. As staff senior composer and sound designer Willie composed musical themes for The Sci-Fi Channel, USA Cable, Trio Cable Network and CNBC for 5 years.

"The computer has revolutionized the way we ingest music in our daily lives and has also changed the WAY we make music & the reasons why it''s made." "Music has become devalued in today’s market. "I felt that a commitment to a niche market, branding music for media content & celebrities, was the direction that I wanted to take." "In today''s world every star is becoming their own network & Willie Wilcox Music is going to support those networks with sonic branding!"
