Details:
A new 10” vinyl split from local LA favourite label,
olFactory Records. Featuring two up and coming
fierce young bands that blend post punk, noise, and an
early 2000’s Sub Pop sound ala A Frames with the grit
of Gravity Records Young Ginns, and Unwound. With a current
sharpness that has hints of Thee Oh Sees, No Age and
chant worthy touches of Abe Vigoda and Le Savy Fav-
this is one of the most cohesive collaborations to hit
turntables this year.

The bands are Bipolar Bear and Talbot Tagora.
Friends by musical association of playing many shows at all ages music & art venue- The Smell, their collective heads nodded at the idea of both bands releasing a 10” vinyl split on olFactory Records. With Bipolar Bear’s fuzzed out guitars, echo chamber vocals, and anthemic choruses they touch upon the current energy buzzing about LA’s all ages club scene. Mix this with Talbot Tagora’s angular chords and rhythmic melodies and you’ll feel art schooled and caffeinated in no time.

Formed in 2004 (Bipolar Bear/ LA) and 2006 (Talbot Tagora/ Seattle) it didn’t take each band long to create a following and be able to open for as many great bands like: Old Time Relijun, Health, The Mae Shi, Anavan, Japanther. With the release of Abstract Distractions, both bands have carved out a unique sound for LA. Mastered by Pete Lyman and recorded by Daniel Haworth (Bipolar Bear) and Talbot Tagora (Talbot Tagora), this 10” split captures both bands call and response to the chaos when the political becomes personal and it’s time for artists to make some noise. Oh joy!
