Born in Chicago, Brimstone has had the privilege as an artist to experience all different kinds of music. In a city which originated it’s own sound, Brimstone continues that tradition by bringing his own flair and style of Hip Hop. The Hip Hop scene is over saturated by generic music and lackluster performances, but Brimstone is able to stand out from the rest and give the genre a breath of fresh air. Brimstone’s unique stage presence has been seen alongside national acts, such as: Paul Wall, Afroman, Tech N9ne, Legit Ballaz, Critical Bill, and King Gordy.
In 2004, at the age of sixteen, Brimstone recorded his debut mixtape “Hip Hop Is Dead: Volume 1”. Long before Def Jam released anything under that title, Brimstone’s mixtape was received with a lot of controversy from the hip hop community for it’s bold statement. The mixtape made its way around the city and suburbs, garnering Brimstone a steady following. Throughout 2005 and into 2006, Brimstone played countless shows in the Chicago area, even traveling to Missouri where he was well received by the local crowd. In the summer of 2006, the government of Zacatecas, Mexico extended Brimstone a special invitation to headline their first annual music festival for the youth. This proved, that even in another country, Brimstone’s music had mainstream appeal to it.
Since 2006, Brimstone has opened for national act Afroman on three different occasions in the Chicago area and even reunited with Tech N9ne for another Chicago tour date. He has also since returned to Mexico to headline their annual music festival for a second time. With the release of his massive hit single “ThunderCat” in 2008, Brimstone received international and domestic radio play, even gaining the recognition of Chicago based radio station 103.5 KISSFM .
Now 2009 promises a new era in the music of Brimstone, His long delayed full length album “War Games” will finally be released including the singles: “ThunderCat”, “Come Over”, and “Mr. Presley”. In an effort to keep his live performances even more energetic, Brimstone is now joined by D-Mental and Rsonizt as his Hype Team on stage. Also new to the mix, is Deebs, the official live drummer for Brimstone. The new line-up guarantees top quality entertainment as seen on the Fast Life Tour with Paul Wall. The streets are blazing with demand for Brimstone and only time will tell how far that demand will reach.
