Details:
Brenna MacCrimmon is Canadian. She likes to play Turkish music. She has been endeavouring to do so for upwards of 20 years. She is still learning.

Kulak Misafiri follows Karsilama.
There are no Karsilamas on Kulak Misafiri, however there are tunes you could dance a Karsilama to. Aren''t those dangling participles something?

Karsilama was recorded in Turkey with a band headed up by Selim Sesler in 1998. Kulak Misafiri was recorded in North America with 30 musicians, few of whom were Turkish. It took about three years and was finished in 2008.
Kulak Misafiri is Turkish music as imagined and performed by people who have been listening to the music of Turkey, the Balkans, the Mediterranean and elsewhere. On Kulak Misafiri you will find Dan Cantrell, Ryan Francesconi, Tobias Roberson, Paul Brown, Lise Liepman, Polly Tapia Ferber, Sandy Hollister, Char Rothschild, Robby Rothschild, George Chittenden, Rumen Sali Shopov, Matt Moran, Patrick Farrell, Greg Squared, Rima Fand, Jodi Hewat, Haig Manoukian, Reuben Radding, Beth Bahia Cohen, Lefteris Bournias, Nicole LeCorgne, Umut Yasmut, Souren Baronian, Mal Stein, James Hoskins, Jesse Manno, Phaedon Sinis, Adam Good, Ben Grossman, Rick Hyslop & Bret Higgins.

All the mixing was done by Lex & Rew MacCrimmon.

More details about the tracks and performers on Kulak Misafiri can be found in the little 32 page booklet accompanying the CD which was designed by Yesim Tosuner. It also has the song words and translations.
