God is good. He is awesome. My lifetime goal is just to please Him, to be used by Him, and to reach the world through music. It’s not just a song, or even an album for that matter. It is a calling on my life from which I cannot walk away. Growing up as a boy I knew I wanted to do something amazing for the Lord but I didn’t know exactly what it was. Then one day in the midst of my worship, through music, God spoke loud and clear. Now today as a young man all I want to do is to reach this lost world by combining my two greatest loves, God and music.
Being Patient
I was raised in the church; being the son of a pastor was not really as difficult as others say it is. I have a great church with great supporters of every ministry in my family. It is my home away from home. Being a worship leader was always great, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I graduated a year early after being home-schooled in high school for three years in 2007. I went off to college at Southwestern Assemblies of God University where I met some awesome people who have already changed my life in one way or another. After my first semester of school I came back home to Houston. My dream was always to attend Berklee College of Music, I wanted to better my musical skill in every way. I came back home to train for just one single day, an audition that would decide my acceptance to Berklee. God had something else in mind at the same time. I ended up recording this album Reach The World Through Music. It was a huge blessing and somehow the Lord provided every cent for the project. It was very time consuming and of course expensive. Fortunately, later that year I was accepted to Berklee and planned on going to Boston in the fall. The CD still wasn’t done yet and I was getting a little worried. I dreamed for a very long time to go to Berklee and I was given the opportunity to attend this great school. The money wasn’t there though, and neither was the time. This experience taught me to trust in the Lord and be patient. I am now promoting my album full time. In January I will be going back to Southwestern to finish up a business degree and at the same time will be attending Berklee online for a degree in music production. I know God will provide the finances needed, just as He always had.
I share this with you so you can know that God is in control. I thought my dream of going to this school was not going to happen. I got a bit worried sometimes asking myself how I would move so far away from home and still promote my record effectively. God handled my every need, and He will yours. This has been a little bit about my calling and a bit of my struggles as I walk through this path the Lord has paved out for me. Is it over? Not even close, but am I willing to go through the fire to get to God’s heart? Absolutely.
