Let’s meet TTC and FLI Boys

TTC (Wilburn L. Henry)

TTC is from the old school. He was born and raised on the north coast of the sunny, Reggae Island Jamaica, in a small district named Cole Gate, near the tourist resort town of Ocho Rios. He is the 7th of nine children, four girls and five boys parented by Eric & Christine Henry. TTC is no stranger to the music industry. In 1989 his original entry “Fama man” was among the ten Finalist in the Jamaica Popular Song Contest. The song was performed by the group Hia-cees, of which he was then a member. Over the years TTC has worked with various groups and bands such as Chanting Chanters, Ekklus, Jabari & Ekechi and Hot & Dangerous to name a few. He has performed live with the likes of Fab Five, Eric Donaldson, Loving-Deer, Unique Vision, Roy Rayon and Pam Hall on the island.
TTC migrated to Canada in 1991 and was a finalist in the Jones & Jones Talent Search that same year with his original entry “Too rude”. During the competition he hooked up with Kermit Ashley and Jeannette Rose and formed the group “Hot & Dangerous”. The group did gigs around the Toronto area and released a single “Light my Fire” in Jamaica in 1992. The group broke up in 1993 and TTC decided to go solo. He has not done much live performances since but has been working in the studios continuously. He partially completed an album at the Powerlines Recording studio with musician and engineer Fred Duval. Included on this album were musicians Fred Duval, Steve Sherman, joey and Tony Hibbert etc. After losing touch with Fred he setup his own home recording studio and started writing and recording his music at home while bringing up his children Tameka, Jabari, Oshay and Shandae with his loving wife Mavis. Now he has join forces with his sons Jabari (JJ) and Oshay along with his nephew Anthony, mixing the old with the new. Their debut single “What” was composed by all four artists, each one writing the part they performed. The song was produced, arranged, recorded and mixed by TTC. The song was mastered at Lacquer Channel in Toronto.
