Clifford began his music career back in 1954 in a street-corner vocal group calling themselves The Echoes. After a countless string of group affiliations through the 50’s and early- to- mid 60’s, Curry caught his big break in 1967 as a solo act. Easter weekend proved to be the charm, when both “She Shot A Hole In My Soul” and the b-side “We’re Gonna Hate Ourselves In The Morning” broke big in the Carolinas and spread up and down the eastern seaboard. His tie- in with Nashville native Buzz Cason proved fruitful through the remaining 60’s, as Curry released a steady stream of high quality R n B recordings, many of them contained in this fine package. Clifford continues to perform throughout The Southeast in clubs and on the Carolina Beach Music Circle, thoroughly entertaining his fans and endearing himself to all who have ever met him.
