Blues & Branches is a powerful and appealing new CD that showcases Reid''s slide guitar and bluesier side, though as its name indicates, it also is flavored with other influences including country, celtic and gospel. Though the primary focus is on Reid''s guitars, his amazing autoharp and 6-string banjo work are included here, as well as rare cameos on dobro and lap steel. Like most of Reid''s recordings, Blues & Branches is sparse, long and consists almost entirely of unedited in-studio performances.
