The VOICE of SAIZ
Possessing a truly golden voice, his most passionate style reflects the vocal and musical traditions of Israel, India & The Americas. Singing exceptionally in 7 languages, he demonstrates a remarkably deep understanding of both the science and spirit of music. His most dynamic voice demonstrates both power, refinement of sophisticated techhique and the complex details of a highly ornamented vocal style. His vocal range boasts both very resonant baritone tones as well as a powerfull and high "falsetto" range. His voice has been likened to that of a baritone sax, featuring rich tambers and trumpet like projection. SAIZ also has a "sweetness" in his voice that balances the powerful projection and intense resonation, creating a very well-rounded, rich tone.
He has studied intensly with master vocalists such as Opera-star Eduardo del Campo (Madrid Spain), Mr. Shadjarian (Persia), and several gypsy Flamenco masters from Andalucia Spain. He also studied Pop & R&B singing from Savonne Marx (The Platters) & Dewitt Bolden (Cameo). Since early on in his life, he has been heavliy influenced by Gospel/R&B Artists such as Tramaine Hawkins, Anita Baker & Sade.
POP / R&B
SAIZ has charted up to 3 on Billboard''s Urban, Smooth Jazz & Gospel Charts as both a vocalist, multi-intrumentalist and Producer. In 1991, Saiz was the ONLY vocalist featured on UN-WRAPPED VOL.1, released by Hidden Beach Records. Un-wrapped is an all-instrumental album of Hip Hop hits, replayed by Jazz greats such as Paul Washingto Jr. Saiz was featured on the Hip Hop hit, track 12 "Danger/Been So Long" as both an multi-instrumentalist and the only vocalist on the album. Un-wrapped charted at 3 on the Urban charts in 1991.
His original R&B & Pop Songs in English have recieved major airplay in both the USA & Latin America. SAIZ is releasing his newest single "MISSION 4 LOVE", which he co-wrote & co-produced with Master Producer Ray Chew (Musical Director for Aliica Keys, The Apollo Band & the National Democratic Convention). "MISSION 4 LOVE" is a crossover song combing Hip Hop/R&B with Salsa. SAIZ is on his way to being the 1st singer to have a hit in both the American R&B and Traditional Latin markets simaltaneously. He has also co-produced and performed with Rigo Luna, Andy Vargas & the Carlos Santana Band. He is also featured as a dancer on Ricky Martin''s music video entitled "Non Somos Solis" with Eros Ramazotti.
LATIN POP, SALSA, MARIACHI, BOLEROS
On Januaray 1st, 2009, SAIZ will be releasing his first solo CD entitled "AUN RESPIRO" accompanied by members of the Luis Miguel Band.. "Aun Respiro" is an album of all-original Pop Ballads in spanish, arranged by Cesar Benitez (Arranger of Romance by Luis Miguel) to be released by Barrio Jamz Records in New York City. In addition, two of his singles are getting released on a compilation CD also by Barrio Jamz. These new projects are going to be played in regular rotation on the Hispanic Brodcast Network in New York and major Spanish format Radio Stations in Miami and the west coast.
SAIZ is an ASCAP LATIN showcased Songwriter and records exclusively for Malkosh Music ASCAP. He has recorded and performed his original songs in major concert venues and National Television Brodcasts accompanied by major artists including members of the Marc Anthony band, Ricky Martin band, Luis Miguel band, Elvis Crespo band, Jerry Ribera band, Carlos Santana Band, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Mariachi Los Galleros & Mariachi Estrellas de Mexico, Mariachi Los Campesinos, Mariachi Estrellas de Mexico and the former Musical Director for Miguel Aceves Mejia. SAIZ began his formal training in Flamenco Puro or "Pure, Traditional, Gypsy Flamenco" at age 17 with the legendary Gypsy Guitarist "Chuscales" and the legendary Flamenco Diva, Maria Benitez (Boston Pops, Santa Fe Opera, Jacob''s Pillow). At age 18, he traveled to Seville Spain to continue his study of both Cante (Singing), Baile (Dance) and Guitarra in the gypsy quarter of Triana. .He studied with several of the world''s top flamenco legends including "El Ciro"& Alejandro Granados. As the Headline Artist in major concert venues, SAIZ was accompanied as a vocalist by "Chuscales" & Alejandro Granados in the USA. SAIZ was awarded the honorary title of "Maestro" by his Professor of Guitar "Chuscales" in 2005.
He has also performed extensively as a Flamenco Dancer both in major concert venues and on KJLA Television in Los Angeles. Since his teen years he worked extensively with Maria Benitez and her famous "Teatro Flamenco" as both an apprenctice dancer, lighting designer, sound engineer and stage manager, under the apprenticeship of Master Artistic Director, Cecilio Benitez. SAIZ combines the influence of Sephardic & East Indian vocal music, delivering a very authentic and mystical approach to the flamenco tradition which has it''s roots in Rajasthani Gypsy music from India. In 2009, SAIZ will be performing for the King of Spain, accompanied by some of flamenco''s greatest stars.
NORTH INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC
In 1996, SAIZ became a devoted student of National Living Treasure, Master Instrumentalist/Composer, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and his son Ustad Aashish Khan (Professor of Indian Classical Music at Cal Arts & founder of the group "Shakti". They are the son and grandson of the greatest and most legendary Composer/Master Instrumentalist, Ustad Allaudin Khansahib, founder of the Maihar Gharana and undisputably the greatest exponent of Indian Classical Music. It was "Baba" who taught Ravi Shankar and invented the modern version of the classical instrument, the Sarode. The Sarode is a very rare and extremely difficult frettless instrument with 25 strings.
While studying Sarode, Vocal music, ragas and composition, "Khansahib" asked SAIZ to join his "Maihar Orchestra" as a guitarist. SAIZ has now earned his place as the only classical vocalist to represent the "Maihar Gharana" under the discipline of Master Aashish Khan, which until now has exclusively produced some of the finest Instrumentalists in the world. SAIZ has performed live and in the studio with Maestro Khan as a guitarist. He is currently recording an album of Indian Pop music under the direction of Maestro Khan, to be released in India. SAIZ is also accompanying Maestro Khan as a guitarist in his new group. He has also featured on numerous recordings with Shafqat Ali Khan & Sakavat Ali Khan, the sons of legendary Drupad Master, Salamat Ali Khan and the Ali Khan Band. With sophisticated skill, SAIZ has transferred the spiritual, musical and emotional depth of Indian classical music to other genres of music, bringing something ancient and mystical to modern Popular music.
SEPHARDIC DEVOTIONAL MUSIC & CHANT
SAIZ''s musical forte is singing the Sephardic Devotional Music of Israel, India, Morroco & Spain. Since early childhood, SAIZ has been instructed in the traditional melodies and instruments including the Kinor & Nevel (Ancient Biblical Instruments attributed to King David). He is very active in the Sephardic Orthodox Jewish Community and teaches classes on Jewish mysticism. He is currently recording an album of Sephardic music featuring very traditional instruments and arrangements, conducted by Ezra Kleiger (string arranger for Luis Miguel).
TAIKO
In 1996, SAIZ became a performing member of the legendary Japanese Taiko Drumming group, San Francisco Taiko Dojo, under the intensely strict discipline of National Living Treasure, Grandmaster Sensei Seichii Tanaka. He was awarded "Honorary Lifetime Member" by Tanaka Sensei for his outstanding solo performances 4 years in a row for sold-out audiences at UC Berkeley''s Zellerbach World Taiko Festival.
NATIVE AMERICAN TRADITIONAL DANCE
SAIZ is a Kiva-initiated, Honored Traditional Dancer of the Kiwa Nation and nephew to the Drum Chief of the most traditional tribe left in North America. He was ranked 4 among 400 Traditional Dancers in the largest and oldest traditional dance in North America, The Corn Dance of the Kiwa Nation. He is well respected as a Northern Traditional Pow Wow Dancer in the California Pow Wow Circuit, having earned a total of 46 Golden Eagle feathers.
SAIZ was awarded a grant by Carlos Santana''s "Milagro Foundation" to teach traditional Native Music & Dance and Native American Philosophy to several All-Indian Schools in rural northern California. He was awarded by the National Music Educator''s Association for his outstanding achievment in teaching over 10,000 children in the California Public School System. He has performed extensively as a traditional war dancer in major concert venues and cultural festivals. He has been invited to perform in Japan by the Emperor''s Drum Maker. TELEVISION APPEARANCES
SAIZ has performed live numerous times on National Television Brodcasts in both the USA & Latin America. His performance at "Carnaval in Mexico" was used to advertise the National Carnaval Tour on Univision & Telemundo. He has made red carpet appearances at the the 1st Annual Latin Grammies in Hollywood in 2000 & The Latin Billboard Awards in Miami, 2004, alongside stars such as Celia Cruz, Juan Gabriel, Gloria & Emilio Estefan, Oscar De La Hoya & Cachao.

SAIZ has performed in major concet venues for sold-out audiences including appearances at Carnaval Mexico, The Apollo (Harlem), 4 sold-out performances at Zellerbach Hall (UC Berkeley)with standing ovations, Yerba Buena (San Francisco)3 performances at The Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco, 3 shows at The Conga Room w/ the Carlos Santana Band (Hollywood) & The Lensic Theater (New Mexico) to name just a few.
