Profet, born Kyrah Aki Ayers in 1980, was raised in Vallejo, CA. By 1991 Profet had begun his writing career. Writing Poetry, R&B songs and Rap lyrics quickly became a past time and a passion. By 1995 Profet began exploring Composing and Producing tracks for other local artists.
By 1998 Profet had purchased his first home studio and had joined an elite group of Bay Area Producers at Contra Costa College’s Music Program.
While Profet’s passion was still in writing, he continued the art of Spoken Word Poetry. Profet began to mature as an artist, turning his focus to deeper social & political topics.
In 2000, Profet left the Bay Area to pursue education at CSU Fresno. In 2003 he graduated with a degree in Speech Communication & had also established a reputation as a talented Spoken Word Artist.
Profet, known mostly as: LP (Lyrical Profet) developed a delivery and unique rhyme scheme that amazed crowds with entertaining performances while delivering messages of Social Consciousness at the same time.
Returning to the Bay Area, Profet teamed up with Epidimik Records Producer: Hybrid. Together they began auditioning vocalist to record work that they had created over the years. In that search, they discovered several Bay Area singers and performers and began to develop a network of talent. One artist in particular, Khela, lead singer of a Neo-Soul band named Khe Note stood out and was chosen to be featured on Profet’s Debut album. Profet entered a writing venture with Khe Note in 2007, writing & co-writing songs for the band.
In 2008 Profet founded a Lyric Writing Company called: ProfeticLyrics focused on the importance of lyrical content in songs. By the middle of 2008 Profet had begun hosting Open Mic/Poetry Events around the Bay Area. Profet’s humble approach to the mic often was followed by powerful lines about our community, the roles we play in society and our responsibilities to our families.
Profet, a long time writer, and lover of music, presents his debut album containing Spoken Word as well as R&B music.
