Phil Singer''s first CD of original music was recorded and released in 2000 with dobro player Bob Maccini: Four Minute Mile (Singer & Steel). Long out of print, copies continue to surface at better yard sales everywhere, along with mosaic candle holders and eight-track tapes of Bread.
Phil currently performs with vocalist Laurianne Jordan in coffee houses, bars, campgrounds, restaurants, and street fairs. They do not cover a single Jimmy Buffett song, so don''t ask. Not one.
Phil plays Bourgeois and Larrivee six-string guitars, a Taylor 12-string, a 1946 5-string Chubby Jackson upright bass, and various whistles, harmonicas, keyboard, and accordion. If assured immunity, he will occasionally pull out the banjo.
Phil''s songs deal with the basic issues: love, loss, fast cars, and bad haircuts. Most of his family of eccentrics and thieves have turned up in one or the other of his songs, along with various heroes, saints, and ex-wives. He does it because he loves it--that, and because he is pretty far from growing up. He hopes you enjoy.
