Details:
David Dhoop is the stage persona of David Batts, a Charlotte, NC native and well-known Asheville, NC musician. Whether it’s top-notch lead guitar, classic horn arrangements, funky bass playing or unique song writing, David adds professionalism and thoughtfulness to everything he touches.

David''s first performances in Asheville were through his jazz guitar studies at UNCA. Subsequent involvement with many great local groups including Peace Jones and Orange Krush allowed David to learn the music business while finding his own voice. His debut solo release, Don''t Miss A Thing, is a unique example of the Asheville vibe mixed with soul, rock and roll, and funk.

While David is known among regional musicians for his fiercely technical guitar work, Don''t Miss A Thing reveals a well-rounded foundation featuring horns, synthesizer, mandolin and much more. Don''t Miss A Thing rings of The Beatles, Quincy Jones and Chicago, while introducing David’s own mellow, lyrical style. Song writing is the foundation of his approach, and now on CD his compositional star can shine brightly. From the burning "Ashes and Embers" and the worldly “Connected”, to the confident swagger of the title track, David has crafted a highly polished project to showcase his versatility.

The future holds a bright light for this talented artist. The five songs on Don''t Miss A Thing are a tribute to the depth of his muse and a tasty sample of the booty-shaking goodness he brings to the stage.
