Homer the Moe is one of two active musical projects of eighteen year old musician, Dylan Webster. Homer the Moe is the more experimental of the projects, and takes pride in being as noisy as possible. The general philosophy is that in order to brake new musical ground, one must be willing to venture outside of mainstream musical tradition, and reject the notion of staying within a set of standard genres. The results of this philosophy''s implementation are some noises that listeners will surely find to be most trippy.
Dylan wrote and recoded Homer the Moe''s eponymous debut release while attending Cornell University''s College of Engineering, and completed the album in early 2009. It has drawn comparisons to the music of Animal Collective and to Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music.
Dylan''s other current musical project is Tiresias and the Blind Prophets. This project is less experimental in nature, is more folk oriented, and draws influence from a large range of genres, including blues and shoegaze. Be on the look out for upcoming releases from Tiresias and the Blind Prophets, Homer the Moe, and any other musical projects that may emerge in the near future.
