LINDA ADDINGTON _

Linda Addington is a singer/songwriter with international experience who is currently residing in Las Vegas. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Linda grew up in the Twin Cities suburb of St. Louis Park. Encouraged by her family she was exposed at an early age to a wide range of musical genres. Largely self-taught, she began composing songs on her guitar at the age of eleven. She performed frequently in school talent shows and musicals and by the end of her high school years, Linda had decided to study theatre and performing arts.

While attending the University of Minnesota at Duluth, Linda garnered several enthusiastic notices for her dramatic work with the Minnesota Repertory Theatre, appearing in such shows as Mark Medoff’s “When You Comin’ Back Red Ryder?” and Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s “The Rivals”.

Upon graduation from college with a BFA degree in theatre, Linda relocated to New York City with an eye towards furthering both her theatrical and musical careers. Over the next few years she appeared in a variety of film and video productions, including “Puerto Rican Mambo”, “City Slickers” and Duran Duran’s “Do You Believe in Shame?” At the same time, her career as a singer/songwriter began to take off, with appearances at such New York City clubs as The Village Gate, Bedford Street Café and The Conservatory. She was also writing songs for other singers who were performing in their cabaret acts.

While in New York City, Linda formed a musical project known as Paradise Café. The group performed citywide, utilizing their combined talents and experience to create an extensive catalog of exciting original material.

During one performance, the group attracted the attention of French record producer, Daniel Japlin, well known for Top Ten hits in the US, Canada and Europe. Paradise Café soon traveled to Paris, France, where they continued writing and performing original material both in English and French.

Since her return to the States, Linda has been pursuing her writing and performing interests. Locally, in Las Vegas, Linda has conducted a chorus for the SGI, an international peace organization, where she has written and arranged music for the group. In 2008 she performed in a staged reading of an original musical by Broadway conductor Wayne Green who is currently the assistant conductor for Phantom of the Opera at The Venetian. She has sung with Paul Stubblefield (The Platters, The Inkspots) at the exclusive Stirling Club at Turnberry Place. She had the opportunity to sing with Chris Penn and together they had the crowd laughing with their combined comic improvisation. Linda has performed her original songs at First Friday, a monthly street festival celebrating local artists and their art galleries, and has contributed her talent to many benefits over the last several years.

Currently, Linda has released her new CD entitled “Almost Home” with exciting original material arranged by award winning jazz pianist, Boy Katindig.
