Freddy Will was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone and grew up living in Liberia, The Gambia and Senegal, West Africa. He spent his adult years living in New Jersey, USA and independently produces his music through Thunder Dome Sounds Studios, spearheaded by JUNO Award Winning producer Eddie Bullen and publishes his books out of Ontario, Canada through Soul Asylum Poetry and Publishing Inc and Freddy Will Publishing.
Freddy Will’s debut album entitled ‘While I’m Still Young – The Talking Drums’ chronicles his encounters while meddling in ghetto slums near where he grew up. As an adolescent and the oldest of four siblings, Freddy Will pursued a career in music and literature. His influences are Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Naughty by Nature, Tupac Shakur, The Notorious BIG and Snoop Dogg. These were just a few genres of music he played in his household. A love for rap, combined with his experiences during the two civil wars of Liberia and Sierra Leone, molded him into an exceptional artist who expresses himself through music, books, screenplays and poetry. His keen interest in science, also led him to establish the Freddy Will Hope Foundation.
Freddy Will, will re-release his debut album ‘While I’m Still Young - The Talking Drums’ along with his first publication entitled, ‘My Book of Chrymes’ on July 7th, 2009.
