Details:
"Live at La Porte Noire EP" is The Grievous Angels’ first CD release.

Tired of hearing over-produced and pre-manufactured recordings, the Grievous Angels decided to prove to the world that musicians can still play real instruments and produce raw, genuine, emotive music in a live setting

With that in mind, they recorded an intimate gig to a selected audience at their favourite venue, La Porte Noire in Brussels. This seven song EP is the result.

''Swimming to Japan'' is one of the GAs’ oldest, and most sinister songs, with a stunning, fuzzed out guitar line reminiscent of Neil Young at his loudest and dirtiest .

The EP takes a change of direction with ''Best'', replete with jangly guitars, soaring vocals and a wild crescendo Johnny Greenwood would be proud of.

''Good Things Gone Bad'' presents a wild, painful howl of Americana so sinister that it would keep Nick Cave awake at night.

''Red Rock'' is another slice of Americana, this time with a driving jungle drum rhythm that sounds like Bo Diddley on speed. Piercing Telecaster and harmonica filth completes the picture.

The EP continues to drive across the US with ''Long Way to Mesa'' picking up some REM and Gin Blossoms along the way.

The cross-country trip carries on all the way down to Mexico with ''Static'' displaying the melodic side of the Angels.

Not ready to quit the party, the EP keeps going into the early hours with a few drinks at "Conrad''s Bar and Grill", Los Angeles’ finest hang-out for lost souls. “It''s a quarter to three, where else you gotta be?”

The Grievous Angels are an international band based in Brussels, with members from the US, Scotland, the North of England and Belgium.

Each of the Grievous Angels brings a set of disparate influences, including REM, The Smiths, Neil Young, Teenage Fanclub, Evan Dando, Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Cave, Counting Crows, The Pixies, Belle and Sebastian, The Stone Roses, Iron and Wine, Led Zeppelin, Sigur Ros, Elliot Smith, The Band, Cream, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam, Gram Parsons, Dick Dale, BB King, John Lee Hooker, ZZ Top, Blur, The Cure, Grant Lee Buffalo, The Gin Blossoms, and Radiohead.

The Grievous Angels are:

Zach Selden: Vocals, harmonica and guitars
