Born on the French Riviera in Nice, Gerard began developing his musical talents by studying classical piano at the prestigious Alziari Nada School of Music.
At 18 Gerard attended the Paris Conservatory of Music, studying with distinguished classical Music instructors in France including the concert pianist Magda BRARD, student of Alfred Cortot and Rubinstein. It was there that his raw talent and ambition began to shine. In 1981, Gerard became the recipient of the prestigious 1st place prize of the national piano competition title awarded in France, Le Grand Prix De Virtuosite, playing music from Chopin and Albeniz.

From there, Gerard''s career took off. He began performing throughout Paris, appearing on national television shows in France, and toured Europe for 10 years.
During this time as he was writing and orchestrating for various TV shows, being a music director for small and large orchestras in Europe, Gerard produced his own CDs for classical, jazz and contemporary artists.

Gerard eventually moved to California for a position of Music Director. While in Newport Beach and Los Angeles, he performed many musical genres, ranging from Jazz, Pop to Classical. He wears the hat of Music contractor and Music director for most of his engagements in Cabaret, musical and recording contracts.

A component of his effort was completing music education at UCLA, Los Angeles, studying composition, orchestration and conducting. He also entered the film scoring program under the distinguished tutelage of Charles Bernstein and Steven Scott Smalley.
In addition, he studied Orchestra conducting with Donald Neuen, artistic director of the Angeles Chorale. Gerard received his UCLA diploma in 2001.

Gerard''s life is full, not only with his music, but with his philanthropic contributions as well. He has played for charitable events and fund raisers including: The American Heart Association, the National Foundation for AIDS Research, Children''s Hospital of Los Angeles and Orange County, and the Long Beach Veterans Hospital. His Professional affiliations include Music and the Art Foundation, The Society of composers and Lyricists, and the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers.

Gerard has always shared his passion for music between live performances and scoring for motion pictures, and has devoted his entire life to the art of writing music and performing. He gives each project on which he works the best of his inspiration and experience.

Listeners find themselves immersed in Gerard’s style and captivated by his smooth and creative music—a complement to his French personality.
When performing, he delivers a magical evening that draws fans from 20 to 70 years old.

Gerard is well-established in Los Angeles area. He currently lives in Los Angeles or in Eze, a small and peaceful village in South of France between Nice and Monte Carlo.
