Dyckns says "Ambiance Before I Go" is his best work to date. It is not clear if this marks Bill Dyckns'' retirement from composing and producing music for the public at large. I, for one, certainly hope not.
The music from "Ambiance Before I Go" comes from Dyckns'' love affair with movies as a child. Movies of drama and misfortune. Dyckns recorded a humorous track "Ducks Crossing". Something Dyckns came away with while waiting for (yup) ducks to cross the road before he drove on. There is an exciting soundtrack-like "Scorpion-X" which is sure to please along with a heartbreaking "Love Slipped Away".
Many comments have been made about the surprise and uniqueness of "Into The Open". Many, if not all, of the tracks on "Ambiance Before I Go" could be considered as soundtrack material, as this CD expertly takes the listener on a voyage and leading the listener back "Into The Open" (Track #8 on the CD). For some songs, the birthing process can be a bit agonizing. Two months ago, I finally finished up what might turn out to be my best grouping of songs to date.
This is quite a surprise considering I almost scrapped the idea while in a funk and the fact that two of us me and (myself who shall remain nameless), nearly punched myself out over the song selection and play order.
Writing music can be a wild ride making it easy to get hung up on the small things and lose perspective. That being said, I am curious to hear how these new tracks flows into your ears.

BILL DYCKNS has been singing & writing since 1964. DYCKNS wrote a highly acclaimed song of the events of November 22nd, 1963 he titled "Man In Texas" as a high schooler. He was a visible & vibrant supporter of the civil rights movement,performing, along with his own works, the "folk/rock'' & gospel songs of the day throughout the local area. After graduation, before college, DYCKNS arrived in New York City''s Greenwich Village where he made an effort for larger recognition playing the "Bitter End" & local "basket" clubs in the Bleecker Street area. Attaining great experience DYCKNS headed for https://www.tradebit.com formed "The Wakefields & played the the midwest. Leaving college early DYCKNS headed back to New York City, enlisting in the army soon after. Being drafted was not on his agenda. Though DYCKNS did serve 1 year in Viet Nam as a combat photographer & was decorated for his service with the ACM, on his return to the States, as he said, it was a world changed. DYCKNS purchased a new guitar in 1980 but could never grasp the gift he had buried deep within after his return from the war. His First "DEMO" CD "STILL AROUND" features "THE BALLAD OF SUSETTE KELO" which has gained praise. Attorney''s for the case are promoting the CD, showing the populist issue it is. Dyckns remains a songwriter of the injustices'' to society but also writes songs with amazing wordsmithing & catchy melodies. DYCKNS was stunned by the inspiration relit in him but is enjoying every second of the magic.
