Details:
Shabazz (šhabazz) Ali Born Shabazz Ali-Qwan Williams, rapper, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur may seem like some overwhelming titles for your average 23 year-old, but not for this ambitious entertainer. In an extremely competitive and erratic hip-hop industry, Shabazz is taking all of the necessary precautions as not to fall into the typical young- street-rapper category that has become so vast and common throughout the hip-hop community. Raised on the violent streets of Jersey City NJ, Shabazz began writing and arranging song lyrics at age 12 with his life-time friend and current producer, Tre “Hollywood” Holland. It wasn’t until age 15 that he discovered his unique talent to rap while free styling at his school lunch table with friends. Shabazz recorded his first track for a local DJ who released monthly mix-tapes all over the tri state area. He quickly became one of the hottest and most popular MCs among his peers, especially with females. With a rise in interest for all areas of entertainment Shabazz decided to try his hands at acting after his mother witnessed him reenact a scene from John Singletons, Boyz In the Hood. Two months later Shabazz signed with acting manager Vickie Frankmano of V&M Talent Management. Shortly after countless auditions for TV and radio spots, Shabazz landed his first commercial for Boston''s Children’s Hospital. The commercial was viewable all over the east coast making this overconfident young teen easily recognizable among admirers. Shabazz landed several other commercials that same year as well as a principle role on the popular TV drama, Law & Order. Between auditioning and filming Shabazz always made time for his first love, music. He continued recording tracks for local and out of state DJs rapping where ever someone was an earshot of hearing. It wasn’t until he came back from shooting a four-month test pilot with actor John Leguizomo in Los Angeles, CA that he took his rap style to super-stardom. Upon returning to New Jersey he linked up with longtime friend and talented producer Hollywood, another very ambitious entrepreneur to form their production company, Dreamworld Music Group. The two began recording several mix-tapes for Shabazz’s solo project under their production company in hopes of creating a big enough buzz around the rapper to ultimately get him a recording contract. At age 18 Shabazz began performing at high schools, malls, and nightclubs all over New York & New Jersey, but it still wasn’t enough for a contract, especially with the vast amount of rappers who reside in the same areas. Shabazz decided to take his image, style, and music to another plateau by going where so many other rap artists are horrified to go, Commercial. Many artists in inner cities are fearful of writing and performing commercial music because of persecution by peers and lash of street credibility. Shabazz, understanding how the music industry works, saw the bigger picture. He used his new commercial look and unique style of flow to his advantage making himself easily marketable and appealing to all ages, races, genders and social statures. This gained the attention of Def Jam, Sony Epic, and Capitol Records. While performing and releasing his smash hits such as Sex in the City and Get Ya Money Right Shabazz received stamps of approval from accomplished industry figures like Joe Buddens, Redman, and Sam Scarffo. After countless commercial hits and live performances at New Jersey and New York night clubs and talent shows, Shabazz Ali-Qwan is ready to take his God given talent to the ultimate level of super-stardom. At the youthful age of 23 Shabazz aka Kidd Millionaire, has shown he is more than capable of holding his own with the abundance of untalented rap artists that exist today. Shabazz plans on bringing back that star quality to music that the hip-hop community is so desperately lacking.
