JHN Liturgical Music is an independent, nonprofit making publisher of contemporary Christian/Catholic music, based in the Diocese of Middlesbrough in England. We are a small group of both religious and lay people, working together to make this kind of audio tape/CD available. Our CDs feature the unique spirituality of Fr. Tony Storey who leads us in prayer and helps us reflect upon our lives.
We began making our Morning & Evening Prayer tapes in the early 1990''s under the guidance of Fr. James Walsh - marist father from the Middlesbrough Diocese, who recognized the need and importance of the minisitry of prayer.
The focus of our efforts is to produce audio cassettes and CD''s of Morning & Evening prayer that offer a selection of alternative psalms, canticles, readings and prayers that have been carefully based on the structure of the ''Liturgy of the Hours''. Prayer, not performing is the soul of our effort. We hope you will find our tapes and CDs helpful in lifting up your heart and that you will be drawn into prayer rather than "just listening".
Our CD''s feature the gentle and ever-prayerful music of Val Goldsack who''s psalms, canticles and sacred songs lead us in a contemplative journey into the mystery of God. These CDs are an ideal aid to prayer for those who can no longer read their Morning and Evening Prayer, others find them useful to play in the car on their way to work, and some just like to hear alternative psalms, canticles and readings.
