Hammerhead are a guitar oriented rock & roll band based in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia). Forming in 2004, their first twelve track album, “Stiff’ was released in 2006 and was very well received by lovers of 80s rock & metal. Followers of Hammerhead are typically guys and gals that rock up in their Guns & Roses, Motley Crue, Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, Skid Row, Black Sabbath etc T shirts, though because the band’s songs are based around catchy melodic hooks and feature awesome musicianship we see a cross section of fans with varying musical tastes.
Hammerhead’s new release (2008), “Seduction Suite” is more rock and less metal than the debut album. The fifteen track album is chocked full of tasty goodies and features the very slick and tasteful lead guitars of Adrian Scott – AKA the Shred Master General. We say without bias that Adrian is regarded as the best of the best of rock and metal lead guitarists in Tasmania. Between the guitars and the vocal harmonies of Reeve and Smith, this album is sure to have something for everyone that loves to rock. The band picked up a new drummer, Paul Hiscutt, to record this album. Paul has plenty of experience in live shows and studio recording and his rock solid style suits the album well.
Hammerhead are busy, both unveiling the new album and writing album number three. With band members being extremely close, cohesive and well established in and out of the band, Hammerhead are in the game for the long haul so fans can expect many more recordings yet.
