Melopainter aka Uku Nurk (born July 17, 1968) is an Estonian musician, ambient music composer. Melopainter is a ethno / experimetal project formed in 2007 by Uku Nurk as a solo project in order to pursue the more experimental work he had contributed as Uku Nurk from the end of 90’ies.
The project revolves around two separate yet overlapping areas - PC recording and video works, both environments being treated as complimentary but different sides of the same coin. Adding video to his tracks makes possible to notice rich imaginary content of Melopainters music.
Uku Nurk started making music during his studies in Tallinn Art University. As a young and talented artist - he needed soundscape background and those days it was difficult to get one - so Uku decided to create music himself.
After first musical backgrounds Uku created more and more tracks and making music became important way to express his thoughts. During 10 years onfly few tracks were published on albums under label Ulmeplaadid until 2008 when Uku started to publish his tracks to independent websites and created music blog https://www.tradebit.com.
Whats next: Uku hopes to get ready his second CD and continue making videoclips as illlustrations to his songs.
