Details:
At what point does exhaustion finally set in during an attempt to make 365 albums? For Matt Farley and Tom Scalzo of Moes Haven, that moment came on April 1, 2006.

By then, the prolific duo had put together a full album of music for every day of 2006 through March 31. Plus, they had about 60 albums in "the bank" - a collection of completed albums to be called upon later in the 2006 Album-A-Day project.

After making all that music, they were TIRED.

And yet, they still forced themselves to make music every day.

After three months'' worth of music, highlighted by many superb, polished songs on the JANUARY, FEBRUARY, and MARCH compilations, the boys decided to get back to basics. The new album would be nothing but vocals and guitars - rough, raw songs less than two-minutes long; fragments; first takes; improvised lyrics; warts and all.

And that''s what you''ll hear on APRIL: WHAT A CRUEL MONTH! - the best of the raw April 2006 recordings.

The 18 songs on the album are all extremely short, filling up a mere 28-minutes of music. And, taken individually, one might not be too impressed. But if you listen to this entire album from start to finish, it will make sense. You will understand that you''re privy to the rarest of auditory experiences - two great songwriters exchanging ideas for a half an hour, each song quickly reaching its pinnacle, and abruptly ending.

Any one of these songs could have been touched up, expanded, and morphed into another fine, well-produced, and memorable Moes Haven song. It''s a testiment to Scalzo and Farley''s nonstop creativity, however, that they can unleash these tunes to the world so unpolished. It''s as if the boys are saying, "Here''s what we did this month. Sure, we could have made it better. But we''ve done that before. You know we can do it. And we''ll do it again next month. For now, try listening to some songs in their raw form for a change. Listen hard enough and you''ll still hear those flashes of brilliance. And you''ll come to appreciate the unproduced attitude."

This album is a real treat for Moes Haven fans.
