ALEXANDER & THE RIOT is the brainchild of prolific songwriter-musician-producer who simply goes by the name ALEXANDER.
ALEXANDER spent years crafting a unique power pop sound by honing his songwriting and musical talents in his tiny basement apartment in Portland, Oregon.
During those years he concurrently tested his material through several projects that garnered much attention from the Portland music scene – one that often emotes an air of exclusivity. In the spring of 2006 ALEXANDER took matters into his own hands and formed ALEXANDER & THE RIOT. He spent much of the summer in Portland’s Dead Aunt Thelma’s studio recording and producing four tracks on which he plays all instruments except drums.
The songs are hook-laden pop, skewered and served hot with a side of aggression, gently drizzled with sweet melodies that are more addictive than crack. And like crack: The first time it’s free. After that, you pay.
