Details:
Darryl Read recorded this track in 1994, with Bill Legend of https://www.tradebit.comX, Bill played on this song the first time around with Marc Bolan, and the song was a smash hit!

On this Recording, Bill works alonside with Darryl Read; Punk inovator and foundling member of the first Punk group Crushed Biutler! Since then Darryl has worked with many a colaborative name Artist --- too many to mention here, but most likely the biggest so far is Ray Manzarek of the DOORS, with whom he has made 3 albums; the last being Bleeding Paradise in 2007 (also available on CDBaby).

This version of Marc Bolan''s heb song, Darryl comes from an almost London Dylanesque style vocal, and as intended; because Darryl had found out that Marc was a great Bob Dylan fan, and thought that this may have been the way Bolan could have done it --- but ultimately its certainly a Darryl Read thing going on here. The track get thrown into a mean street vibe --- as well does the promotional video film to go with the recording --- shot also in 94, and never seen the light of day until now! Hence the re-issue...

Darryl Read Biography
by Ralph Heibutzki for AMG ALLMUSIC Guide

Poet, provocateur, pinup, and punk forerunner: British drummer/guitarist Darryl Read has packed all these roles into four decades of music, film, and TV work. Read won his first notice at 14 with an award for his film Daylight Robbery. He began chasing the rock & roll dream in 1968 as a drummer for the Crayon Angels, a psychedelic punk group managed by pirate DJ Emperor Rosko. In 1969, Read and guitarist Jesse Hector formed Crushed Butler, a thunderous power trio that spent two grueling years chasing a record deal (and memorably panned as "three ugly, heavy musicians, playing music to match"). The band is now seen as a progenitor of punk; its recordings have been reissued as Uncrushed (1998). Read''s rock & roll dreams went on hold after the group''s 1971 demise, but he landed on his feet with a job at Track https://www.tradebit.com then won a part that allowed him to combine acting with music: guitarist Keith Richards in the play Let the Good Stones Roll, which opened at Scotland''s Edinburgh Festival. Read followed with another role in Bastard Angel, a play based loosely on the Kinks. When the British music scene proved unreceptive, Read shifted priorities to Germany and the U.S., where he''s divided most of his time since the 1980s. He''s worked with a dizzying array of musicians, including former T. Rex drummer Bill Legend and late percussionist Mickey Finn, which led to the Walking in Shadows (1995) and Gods ''n'' Angels (1996) EPs. Read forged another significant relationship with Third World War''s Terry Stamp, with whom he collaborated on two gothic punk-leaning albums, Book of the Dead (1990) and Beat Existentialist (1991). As the ''90s ended, Read expanded his multimedia profile with Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, who''d guested on Beat Existentialist. The pair collaborated on Freshly Dug (1999), which mated Read''s poetry to Manzarek''s salutary keyboard style. (In 2000, 55 more poems appeared in Read''s book Set.) Read spent 2002 collaborating with former Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman on a new album, Shaved, and promoting a new film, Remember a Day. Read played Roger Bannerman, a character inspired by the flameout of Pink Floyd''s own troubled founder, Syd Barrett. As 2003 rolled on, Read began readying a limited edition of his book Stardom Road, which recounts his acting and musical experiences.
Towards the end of 2005, marked a first in Darryl''s career - both Freshly Dug and Crushed Butler UNCRUSHED were re-released on the same day - 26th of October 2005, on Cherry Red labels - Lemon and RPM for the UK.

*REMEMBER A DAY additional film scenes 2008
On the 13th and 14th of April 2008 Nigel Lesmoir - Gordon, Darryl and German actress Barbara Ungerhofen alongside with Jill Lovegrove and Jenny Lesmoir-Gordon; filmed additional scenes for the film Remember a Day in Cambridge UK; that could not have been filmed at the time of the original production. The filmed additional scenes were written by the late and great Bernard White and Darryl in late 1999. This is a first* in cinematic film history; as no film company has ever returned and resumed filming after 7 years ---- to shoot and re-edit scenes into an existing version. Originally the idea was to shoot the scenes that could not have been filmed at the time (due to the productions low budget); and put them in as extras in a new DVD packaging, however, Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon suggested that the sequences be re-edited into the original film ---- therefore giving it a more plausible theatrical release --- for cinemas. The film boasts a very special cast that stars: Zoot Money, Jenny Fabian, Jamie Foreman, Peter Jenner and Darryl in the leading role of the reclusive Roger Bannerman ---- a character very close to the late and great Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd.
