For over a decade, Giggle the Ozone has been inundating unsuspecting audiences with their fiery and challenging mélange of hardcore punk, motivational library music, martial fanfare, proggy pop, blips, squeaks, hollering, high-pitched sine waves, doors slamming, buildings catching on fire, public service announcements, new age, and hate rock.
At the core of the band is multifaceted art warrior Dylan Sparrow; in addition to handling nearly all the compositional / lyrical duties in the band, on record he frequently IS the band – several albums, including the most recent "Expo Nexus", are performed almost entirely by him, augmented with a few choice guest musicians. Most visual art and writings surrounding the aura of Giggle the Ozone can be attributed to him as well.
Though originating from New York City, the band has toured all over the east coast, playing raucous and lively shows in such esteemed venues as Scooters Skating Rink in Wilmington, Southwest Burrito in New Brunswick, and a haunted mansion/halfway home in Schoharie. Ultimately, however, Giggle the Ozone is an album-oriented beast, often leaning towards an ambitious "big picture" approach to art rather than favoring the novel "short and sweet" modes of expression which currently reign in this nightmare age of digital access.
