Details:
“The ‘Conversations’ Album is the result of nothing more than a group of guys that had many memories from summer time of the following year, both good and bad, and wanted to make sure those memories were not forgotten. Each song is like one photo. When you hear it, it makes you think of a time, memory or place. If songs where photographs, then this record would be the photo album.” - Zeke Sayer

"We set out to make an album about anything and everything, nothing and something. We all knew we wanted a ''Homemade-Indie-Vintage'' sound, so instead of going out to a professional recording studio and paying to record, we recorded the whole album in a 1960''s Mobil trailer that we remodeled and hung up Beatle posters along with our other favorite bands. Then we stuffed all of the recording equipment in a corner of the 10''X 20'' room and started working on the album. Basically, this album broke all the rules when it comes to recording a typical album. We didn''t worry about much, we just set up the mics, and started recording. We spent over 6 months in that ''recording studio'' and sometimes it was heaven, some times it was a hell hole because we recorded most of the record during the Summer of 06'' and we did not have any AC in the room, so you can imagine how hot it got at times. One thing we love about this whole album is the simplicity of it, but yet it''s cunning appeal. Sometimes, we would have friends stop by the ''recording studio'' and set on the photon and just watch us. It really didn''t even feel like we were really recording at times. We had so much fun and i believe that is all that counts. This record may not do anything, or even be a hit, but we all had a lot of good memories to come out of it and a friendship between each other that will last a life time." - Fact Not Fiction

Fact Not Fiction is a fairly fresh band coming out of Hartwell, GA. Although new, they have already captured the hearts of some and the attention of many local music lovers. FNF originally started in January 2006 and has been expanding since then. Zeke Sayer, leader of the band, founded the group after an unfortunate heartache. Sayer comments, "After getting out of such a long relationship that resulted in mostly pain, a lot of songs started coming to me. I then decided to put the band together". The band has had its ups and downs of course, but it always seems to come out on top.

Fact Not Fiction band members include Zeke Sayer, Jon Bryant, Justin Vickery, and Adam Grant.

One reason a lot of people can appreciate FNFs music is because of its reality. Each song has a deeper meaning. Behind the mellow, smooth vocals of Zeke Sayer lies a hidden message for each listener to grasp. Sayer commented, "Most of the lyrics come from real life experiences. I have even taken words directly from an argument I was having with someone else and used them as lyrics. Other times, words just come to me". The music is also there to accompany the great lyrics and vocals. A common saying is that Its all about the music. For Fact Not Fiction, this is no exception. With the two amazing guitarists, one talented bassist, and an awesome drummer, this band is sure to appeal to your ears whether its your style of music or not. With so much talent flowing off the stage, it is hard to not appreciate the band and the time and effort they put into it all. Each band member contributes greatly to seeing that FNF is successful. Throughout the entire recording process, they spent countless hours in and outside of the studio practicing with and without the band. Although Zeke may be more of the writer, each member has also had his opportunity to shine and did so as they produced their first album, entitled "Conversations with Eyes Closed".

The band entered Zeke''s recording studio about seven months ago to begin working on this release. The album consists of 11 original songs, both written and recorded by Fact Not Fiction. Two of the greatest cuts on the album are "Homecoming" and "In My Car". Both of these are fan favorites as "In My Car" is definitely one of the more well-known songs the band has. "In My Car" was written one night while Zeke was just relaxing in the studio. The previous night, he had experienced a somewhat romantic night while he was literally stuck in a car with a girl who he was acquainted with at the time. The entire song is about the night along with the emotions he felt at the time. Zeke said, "It is everything that I wanted to say, but couldn’t. Therefore, I used the music to speak for me".

Fact Not Fiction debuted their album on September 9, 2006, at the Recreation Department in Hartwell, Georgia. Before the show, Justin Vickery seemed very excited and full of anticipation. "We are really expecting a great turnout and hope to just have a good time. Money is nice, but this is mostly about getting the exposure we need to take the band to the next level". Fact Not Fiction found the show to be like the ''icing on the cake'' for them. It, along with the newly released album, should really get the band headed in the direction they wish to go. Jon Bryant comments, ''Its a very well put together album, good music, great bunch of guys. What’s not to love?''.

Truly, what is not to love? You can probably expect a broad array of music to come from them as they continue to mature in life and grow with their artistic gifts.
