Inside the Far began in 2000 when Mike and Christy split with their old band shortly after completing their first album. For the next two years, they decided to audition new members in hopes of finding individuals that would share in the vision of Inside the Far. After many attempts to find the right combination, they decided to stop wasting time and pursue the dream on their own.
They finished assembling Celestial Studios in 2003, with the help of ProTools and many countless sleepless nights Mike began laying the tracks for “Spin”. Mike’s addictive ambition drove him to write every bit of music you hear on the album. Once the initial tracks were complete, they headed for the studio for vocals and live drum tracking.
With the help of Grammy winning engineer Aaron Connor, they were able to make “Spin” become larger than life. Christy recorded her main and backing vocals at Chapman Recording while drum tracking was done by local legend Andrew Ward at Berry Music group in KC. Additional vocal tracks were done at Berry Music by Christy. Expertly mixed by Aaron and Inside the Far on the SSL 4000 board at Berry, the vision was coming to life. After about 50 hours of mixing, “Spin” was ready to go the next stage of production –mastering.
Next, “Spin” traveled to Boulder, CO to be mixed by Grammy winning engineer Matt Sandoski. With the use of HDCD, Matt was able to add a dimension to the layers within the music and “Spin” truly became ‘cinematic’.
Currently, Inside the Far is working on their next album in the Celestial Studio. They’re hoping to tour when they complete more material and are able to create a real experience for https://www.tradebit.comide the Far.
