Details:
Music as a map and a carrier to distant places, that is the music of Templo Diez (once described as the band that provides the soundtrack for your daydreams).

Like a journey the music takes you to different places, stumbling into scenes in big anonymous cities, the plains in between, or maybe a birds eye-view from the surrounding mountains. Templo Diez'' music is full of echoes and scenery, echoes of both American and European songwriting and scenery that is truly transatlantic...

Templo Diez was founded in 2002 by songwriter Pascal Hallibert (vocals, guitars, keys), he was joined soon by Leejon Verhaeg (guitars) and Paolo Panza (drums, glockenspiel), who both played with Hallibert in "Miss Wyoming", a band from The Hague. Templo Diez grew quite fast and played numerous gigs in Holland and the USA (including the SXSW-festival in Austin) The release of their first CD "Hoboken" in 2003, well received in both Europe and the USA, showed what the band was capable of with just two guitarists and a drummer. The band also performed in an improvised multimedia project “Cinema for the Ears” multimedia project with sonic explorers of “Au”.

The arrival of Gloribel Hernandez (vocals, bass and keys) in 2004 and the help of Saskia vd Giessen (violin) brought more contrast to the group. The sound evolved and so did their reputation as a live-act. Once again they toured European and North-American soil (o.a. CMJ festival, New York), the growth of the band was unmistakable. They recorded and planned the release of a second album, "Winterset" came out in 2006. This album was the natural progression of what "Hoboken" already had shown, a much broader sound, due to the use of more string-based arrangements. Halliberts song writing and the band''s music, combined with the travelling-like sequence of the songs, converted the album into a cinematographic experience.

In 2006 Roman Escalda Schipper (double-bass, accordion, vocals) joined the band, a new North-American tour (where they where invited to play at the Canadian Music Week) and a series of gigs followed in 2007. In the summer of 2007 Miranda Visser (violin, vocals) joined Templo Diez as permanent violin-player. As a small teaser for their upcoming album Templo diez recorded on special request of the French label Hinah an EP with 4 songs, all sung by Gloribel, called "Crowheart". The band just finished recordings of their forthcoming third album "Merced", which will have its release at the end of June. "Merced" will set out further west (in terms of songs and lyrics) and beholds an even more dynamic mix of instruments and music…
