Way back when, it started off back in ''79 with the Sugar
Hill Gang, ya''ll remember the rhyme. But back then, I was 3
years old. Grew up on mom and dad''s 45''s of rock-n-roll and
records of soul. As a girl I rocked imaginary crowds in my
room. Got to middle school and then I started writin'' some
tunes. I wrote my first rap in 96, and now a little over 9
years later, the result is this. It''s been a long time
comin'' elevatin'' myself. Started a label, got a few
releases under my belt. At shows cats look at me funny
everytime I come out. But jaws drop to the floor soon as I
open my mouth. After a couple bars of me rippin'' the mic, I
have ''em wildin'' to the point that they forget that I''m
white. I''ve written stories so deep, they''ve gotten tears
in they eyes and songs that people say have impacted they
lives. I do this for the love not the money or fame, so
I''m not using sex to blow up my name. There''s not a subject
I can''t touch, diverse with the pen. I switch my flows up
to the beats so we blend. A lot of things happened in 2004.
Nominated best female rap artist for the songs I record,
on Music Hype Online but didn''t win the award. Yet and
still I got a call from BillBoard, where out of thousands
of entries I''s selected to perform, at the HipHop
conference - don''t mean to toot my horn. But I really feel this is the very reason I born. and I''m bout to come through like the perfect storm.
