Since 1998, they have maintained a steady work ethic in trying to create quality, unique, diverse music that would appeal to a broad audience. They have created their own Indie Label, SMASH MOUNTAIN ENTERTAINMENT, LLC and their own publishing company, which will put them in a greater position to hit the hip hop industry full force.
Greg Rashone Mc Kenzie (a.k.a. Greg ROKH), Writer and Lyricist, is a compelling individual with an explosive delivery and 6 - writing style that’s unique and set apart from your conventional everyday, run of the mill artist. He accredits his pursuit of a career in music to his Mother and her encouragement of him as a teen. Born in Hartford, CT; raised in Brooklyn, NY and his Jamaican roots give him an edge that in second to none in the music business. He accredits his to those who have influenced him throughout the years: Bob Marley, Scarface, Coldplay, Ghostface Killah, and Musiq. He likes these artists because of their unique style. He prides himself on creating something different every time his pen hits the pad and being a stand out in the industry so people will take notice. He’s an avid video-gamer and spends his spare time reading the Bible when he’s not creating a fresh rhyme.
Rataquius James Lister (a.k.a. SKIZZLE), Producer and Engineer, is a plethora of musical intrigue and knowledge. He is a student of music’s instrumental emphasis on people through his use of a wide range of instruments in his beat making. He is very drawn to his favorite artist, Jay-Z, because of his ambitious journey and his drive and determination to achieve the goals he has achieved. He overcame the obstacles of the closed doors of the record label execs and created his own legacy. He was inspired by his Father, James Lister, to pursue a career in the entertainment business. James Lister (aka Mr. Jimi) is a musician himself and he plays the keyboard and the guitar. In grade school, his father taught him how to program sequences and the basic operation of Midi. He started out playing drums when he was four years old in church. His father played the guitar and the organ. He was brought up in a musical home and now making quality music is his career. Besides Dr. Dre and Jay-Z, from time to time he listens to Jimi Hendrix and John Mayer. His hobbies include reading books, listening to music and creating fresh unique music.
They have performed at several venues across the city of Houston, HUSH, The MAIN EVENT, T-TOWN, The ROXY, THE INDUSTRY CAFÉ, OMNI CENTRAL, CLUB RIDDUMS, ETC. They have performed at several showcase sponsored by major labels such as, Def Jam and Sony, as well as performing for Def Jam A&R (at that time) Salim Boab. They have performed on the same stage with artist such as Ciara, Cassidy and Lil’ Flip at the TOYOTA CENTER in Houston. These shows marked only the beginning of their continuous hunger to make a statement in the hip hop community. They are endlessly working and dedicating their time to producing a unique style and sound that will embark on the ears of the hip hop consumers, major labels, A&R’s across the country and fulfill their hunger for the next platinum hit.
