Kato Rivers III sings with soul, charisma, and passion.
Since the early ''80s, Rivers has performed with intensity and under the complete movement of the anointing, whether the audience was two or two thousand. Many churches have been blessed to hear his musical praises unto God.
Kato Rivers began singing with the world-famous Hallelujah Singers in June of 2000, where he studied under the brilliant tutelage of Marlena Smalls and expanded his talents, both personally and professionally. His talent has taken him all over the United States and as far as Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands. He has conducted music conferences during gospel retreats with Susan Montgomery and BET News anchorwoman Cheryl Martin and performed for President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and other world leaders at the G8 Summit.
In between touring with the Hallelujah Singers, Rivers began work on his album Pure Gold, recently recorded at Cave Studios in Atlanta. Pure Gold features the deep voice of Rivers in eight original songs and Rivers'' interpretation of The Lord''s Prayer. "Glorious," said M. Hazen Anderson, executive producer of the album. "Kato''s rich vocals are absolutely captivating. This album reflects not only his love of God but also showcases his savvy writing skills and reflects his influences from many musical genres."
Marcus Williams, son of renowned gospel artist Candi Staton, produced the album at Cave. Williams is currently on tour with Tyler Perry, and has performed with numerous other stars. Vance Taylor, a keyboardist most recently featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations and Toni Braxton''s album Snowflakes, plays on Pure Gold, along with John Crossland and Kevin Griffin.
"I''ve always felt like it was my calling to create an album to share my experiences with God and let people see how much God cares and that He will be with you through any situation, good or bad," said Rivers. "God gave me this talent and vision to share His message."
