Kay Frances King Munson is known by those who grew up with her, and the Fayetteville,NC community, as Kay Frances King. Kay was born in Hickory, NC. Her Dad was the lead singer for the Rock''n Roll group, the Silhouette who recorded ''Get a Job "in 1957.
Kay attended Newbold Elementary, Washington Drive Jr. High and graduated from E.E. Smith Senior High school,
Class of 66, Fayetteville, NC. She attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and graduated from Chicago State University in Chicago, Il.
Kay Frances is a gifted soloist who performs various genres of music. Her voice brings out the "honey" in classical music, soul in gospel music, and the beauty in operatic songs.
Kay has been singing for over 30 years and performed in North Carolina, Chicago, Illinois, and many cities throughout the Midwest and England.
Kay''s most notable performance was at the Civic Center in Wolver Hampton, England in December 2002.
Kay studied voice at the Guilford Musical Arts School in Greensboro, NC. She performed her first operetta at the age of seventeen.
Kay completed additional Vocal studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kay''s voice has been compared to the great Coloratura, Leontyne Price, contralto Marian Anderson, and contemporary gospel singer, Yolanda Adams. Audiences have been impressed by Kay''s vocal performances and her exemplification of her free spirit.
Kay has written several songs and received copyright permission from the Library of Congress as recent as September 2003.
Kay has written and produced her new CD, Kay Frances in Love and Spirit, Man Name Jesus, a new contemporary gospel song for all the world to praise and worship in Love and Spirit.
Kay Frances King''s performances include classical, operetta, gospel, contemporary gospel, and originally composed materials for all ages. She is a member of Abney Chapel S.D.A Church, under Pastor Michael Miller, and sings with the Contemporary Voices of Praise; and sings with the Voices of Praise at First Baptist Church in
