K''luba (Kah-loo''-bah)is comprised of an array of young, innovative Colombian musicians under the direction of Wolfgang Barros and focused on preserving the quintessence of Colombian folkloric rhythms while incorporating modern elements of rock, jazz and electronica.
In the process the uninhibited use of Afro-Colombian drumming combined with original lyrics and sensual melodies come together to present the music of this unique culture in a remarkable fashion thus offering the listener the true essence of Colombia, its people and traditions, its valleys and rivers, its mountains and coastlines.
The goal of fusing traditional rhythms with new sounds and modern technology is fully accomplished in the group''s first recording effort. Barros'' energy, style and commitment to the promotion and preservation of Colombian culture are complimented by the supportive colaboration of diverse guest musicians, composers and producers in this premier production.
Born in the Carribean region of Colombia, the cradle of Cumbia and Vallenato, Wolfgang Barros developed an interest for the indigenous rhythms of his homeland at a very early age. He was trained in the archetypical inticacies of Afro Colombian drumming by the legendary folkloric percussionist Paulino "Batata" Salgado.
"Ecos" includes lyrics written by Dali Fernandez and by Wolfgang Barros. Musicial collaborations include
