About the Music:
On Thurs. Oct. 12th, I will receive my 2nd nomination for an L.A. Music Award at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip, I am quite excited (If you would like to come to the Whisky and vote for your choice to win in 10 different categories, just send an email to info@https://www.tradebit.com).
The first nod I received was for "POP ALBUM OF THE YEAR", the second will be for the prestigious and highly competitive "FEMALE SINGER/SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR" category. I wrote and produced this, my debut album (The Electric Sessions were co-produced with the fabulous Joe Hardy of Houston). I call my genre "Alternative Pop" but L.A.M.A. doesn''t have that category (yet: ) so "POP" it is.

The title of the nominated album is "PRODUCT OF AN ADDICTED CULTURE". Track number 6, "NOWHERE TO GO FROM HERE" will be included on the "BEST OF L.A. MUSIC AWARDS 2006" album as well. I am truly honored by all of this and would like to thank L.A. MUSIC AWARDS for their generosity.
One final scoop, it looks like NOWHERE TO GO FROM HERE is going to be picked up for a movie, I''ll keep you posted as details unfold. As for my live shows, I''m playing THE CAT CLUB on the Strip Nov. 14th at 9 pm. i am new to west hollywood. i am a singer/songwriter and i''ve had the honor of working with some great musicians since I''ve been here these last few months. i have done 5 shows in los angeles, so far. I have many things in the works at this time, so keeping checking in, stay connected. i moved here from a small town in kentucky, but i have lived in nyc and los angeles previously so i am more liberal than my "roots" would suggest. I do admire many of my hometown values so I guess I''m just one more complex human being on the planet : )
I am solid. i know who i am. everyday i get a little closer to my vision, i am passionate about my potential and everybody''s quite frankly. i love life, and i am both a student and teacher of my own consciousness.
i love animals, especially my dog, "mischief", i love nature. i want to leave the world better than i found it, and i want to live my life fully expressed... i love people, especially good, kind hearted people.
i am loyal and generous (I’m a leo). I am wise, but I’ve done plenty of stupid things. i cannot be bought. i love fashion, but only as an expression of who i am. i , my clothes don''t make me. i love humor and believe that people that offend easily simply aren''t taking responsibility for their unresolved emotional issues (https://www.tradebit.com is great for integration). Art is art, a mirror to examine ourselves, not policy or morals, folks. i love babies, i love old people, i love beautiful things, i love quirky things, i love music, i love dancing, i am very proud of my faith, i’ve worked to build it from a very shaky foundation. (i used to joke that my parents should have named me kimberly "no faith" jones). i am spiritual, but not at all religious. i love, love, love to learn. i love my girlfriends, my guy friends and my family. i was born to the two most promising, beautiful, talented, loving parents on the planet, both of whom tragically and unconsciously destroyed their lives with alcohol (yes, i really am a product of an addicted culture). my brother is a special needs adult and we are very close. i love this planet. i love feeling connected. i love God. i was raised a southern methodist so i will always love Jesus, but i don''t expect others from different cultures or backgrounds to think like me, that''s narcissistic. i respect others rights to follow their own path, but I believe mightily in the responsibility we all share, to the best of our abilities, to emotionally support others when genuinely needed (not to be confused with codependence) and to inspire by example (no coercion please, a favorite of governmental bodies). i look forward to building a truly extraordinary relationship with my future husband (assuming he exists : ) currently, i am a very content "conscious single" (student of dr. harville hendrix''s teachings). finally, the older i get, the happier i am so it seems to me that i must be doing something right. i was old when i was a baby. i think i''m aging backwards ...hmmm
