K. Montez has lived a life surrounded by music. As a child he sang in the glee club, chorus and local choirs in the Detroit, Metro area. At the age of sixteen his personal association with legendary artists Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, and The Spinners developed into a mentorship that refined his natural ability and confirmed his decision to pursue a career in music.
Over the years his vocal talents have become well known. Ministering the Gospel through music he sings to the glory of God while participating in the many celebrations of faith in the Detroit, Metro area. As a participant at the 2004 Martin Luther King celebration he shared the stage with Gospel giants Ortha Barnes, Rizen, and Aretha Franklin.
In the early 1980s K. Montez coproduced a gospel album for the Detroit-based, Jones Temple Church of God in Christ. In 1990 he composed and produced tracks for Jones Memorial Choir''s world renowned album, "Holy, Holy, Holy".
Currently, at his studio, Tripp City Sounds in Detroit, he is writing, producing and conducting recording sessions for many aspiring local artists while completing his solo project entitled “Hallelujah! (To God Be The Glory).” God has blessed him throughout his musical career and to this day all glory belongs to Him. “I will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continually be in my mouth,” is the premise of his mission.
