Hello, everybody! I''m Kenny Powell, and I''m a pre-Kindergarten teacher from Sacramento, California. I also happen to be a singer/songwriter/producer. I decided to combine the two things I love most and do best, and the result is my debut CD, "Preschool Jam!" This CD is a collection of original, traditional, movement, learning, sing-a-long, resting, and just plain fun songs for kids, parents, teachers, and anyone who loves to groove! "Preschool Jam!" is designed to encourage and stimulate young minds to learn and grow, and to enhance and reinforce the positive lessons that children learn at home, at school, and anywhere else.
I have over 20 years of preschool-daycare experience, and I hold a Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. "Preschool Jam!" has been field-tested at various child care centers, and the response has been so tremendously positive that I just had to make the CD available to everyone! Two of the recurring themes of this wonderful feedback are "We''ve played the CD so much, we''ve almost worn it out!" and "You''ve got to sell this CD!" Older kids and adults seem to enjoy "Preschool Jam!" as much as preschoolers do.
My biggest musical influences are Stevie Wonder, James Brown, George Clinton, and Earth, Wind & Fire. However, I love a wide variety of music, and I try to bring that variety to my own music. I believe that children deserve more choices, as long as the choices are positive and appropriate. On a personal note, when I''m not teaching or making music, my interests and activities include weight training, swimming, sports, music, and reading the newspaper.

Another of your great children''s (of all ages) song!!!!! I enjoyed the music and the singing and for the group you are singing for, the lyrics are great. It is really encouraging for the kids to learn to not worry about dancing "correctly". I wish I would have learned it. Wait, it''s not too late.

I feel Kenny Powell''s "Preschool Jam!" is an exciting children''s CD. The kids here love it; the "DINOSAURS!" and "Quiet Time" songs are their favorites. I recommend this CD to anyone with young children.

Kenny is a former teacher here at the Poppy Patch Child Care Center. He recently brought us a copy of his "Preschool Jam!" CD. The children really enjoy listening to "Preschool Jam!" We play the CD so often, we''ve almost worn it out! All the children have their favorite songs. Kenny brought the light and enjoyment of music to our school. All in all, Kenny is great when it comes to music and children! The children here at the Poppy Patch love him very much.

As the mod of the Children''s Genre Spotlight here at mixpo I''ve been a bit slack of late, largely because there are very few posts in the genre.
This is a great song for kids. Dinosaurs were something that intrigued me as a kid and I''m sure still fascinate kids today.
Excellent lyrics which would keep kids interested. Love the chorus. It''s got a real hook to it that kids and adults can sing and dance to. Like the way that you haven''t tried to "dumb" the music down.

I love this song! This song would be perfect for one of nephews who loves dinosaurs. The music holds me, the text is interesting, and your singing is great. I really like how this song starts.

Wow I am very impressed. Sounds almost like it is coming right off a childrens TV show. And if that is you singing - your voice is perfect. In fact when I listened to Dinosaurs I was thinking this music is not only children''s music but that piece sounds like it would fit in a broadway show with YOU SINGING IT! -- no kidding I am serious.
