With all the members being taught music at the local college, it leads to a very diverse, yet easy to listen to style of music, which can be heard on their first CD release, "Records, CDs, and Coffee Beans". The wide range of genre influences include Jazz, Funk, Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Folk, and Blues. Artist and Band influences include Modest Mouse, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, and much more.
After going through some instrumentation changes throughout their career, The Light Friday has landed on something that works extremely well with their diverse musical background. Brad Larson''s drumming and Franky Anderson''s bass playing create a funky, yet simple back-beat that keeps the music flowing really well, as Jenna Loeppke''s violin creates the beautiful melody lines over the top. Danny Moffitt''s guitar playing, singing, and music/lyric writing skills top it all off and make the music that they enjoy playing the most.
