Details:
Lonesome Jane hails from Grand Rapids Michigan. They can be most easily be categorized as Alternative Country, but their sound taps into Folk, Pop, Bluegrass and Swing. The varied background and experience of the band members creates a blend that moves between Cowboy Junkies, Alison Kraus, Old Country, 60’s Folk and Texas Swing. The music is always passionate, always sexy and always well crafted.

Tracy Olmsted - Vocals, Songwriting - has been singing since she could talk, although her father confides that it took her a while to sing in tune. She started with folk music, trained in classical and jazz in high school and college, then moved back into folk and pop. After college, she started writing and collaborating with other singers and songwriters, which led to bands, which led to...well...Lonesome Jane.

Ryan Bodiford - Vocals, Songwriting, Guitar - has been playing guitar since the first Bush administration. Besides a wide range of influences from Bob Dylan to Paul Simon, his music is influenced by his master’s degree in Ethnomusicology. Look forward to intricate lines and unexpected rhythms from Ryan.

Chris Olsen - Vocals, Songwriting, Guitar, Bouzouki - is also a member of The Willeys. Chris has graced the Grand Rapids area with excellent guitar lines since 1982. You can hear the influence of Glen Phillips and Colin Meloy, among others in each new song.

Travis Therrian - Stand-up Bass - hails from the Lansing area. He grew up in the same musical family as Tracy, but didn’t start playing until high school. He started with guitar, but moved to electric bass with his first band. After playing everything from basic rock to Primus, he became fascinated with gypsy jazz in the tradition of Django Reinhardt, which of course led to the stand up bass. Travis lays down a mean base line for Lonesome Jane in the perfect style every time.

Drums: The drums you hear on this demo are played by Julie Ghareeb. Lonesome Jane plays with or without drums depending on the venue. As a rule we play bars with drums and coffeehouses without. If you have a preference, please tell us during booking.
