"Making a living from music is a difficult yet satisfying thing to do. There is a constant push and pull between art and business. Writing and recording projects take longer as an independent artist, but the freedom to choose my own direction is vital. It seems the time-honoured craft of song-writing is becoming lost in all the hype and so a great deal of my inspiration comes from those who keep this tradition alive."
Hi there from Melbourne Australia. I released this album this year - my first, so very excited. Show coming up at Manchester lane on 28 Sept which is a great club in the city and playing with James Macdonald, another Melbourne writer. Still looking for management and distribution, but in the meantime, trying to balance, music, sport and love!
Grant Siedle (pronounced seedlee) has been performing in Melbourne since 1986. As a classically trained pianist, he then branched into rock, pop and jazz and began writing songs in his teenage years. He has also performed in musicals, plays and appeared as an actor on television and film. Grant is just finishing a run as Benny in the highly successfull Melbourne-based tribute band BABBA. He also plays around Melbourne in the Dukes of Debonaire jazz trio, co-founded with long time compatriot DJ Nelson in 2003.
