Biographical material:

Bruce Graybill is a Kansas City based Mandolinist, Guitarist, Songwriter and Composer. He performs as a solo artist, and with Classical and Jazz Guitarist Ray Bell of Little Rock, Arkansas. Graybill has performed extensively both nationally and internationally for the Classical Mandolin Society of America, and other regional mandolin organizations. His appearances venues range widely, from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN.

Graybill embarked on a lifelong musical journey in 1975 playing Electric Guitar in a Floridian Rock group called ''The Ebony Blue Show Band''. Citing early influences like Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix,Joni Mitchell, and Niel Young, Graybill was introduced to the Mandolin through Bluegrass Music in 1982, and studied its use in Bluegrass, Jazz, Swing, Gypsy and Classical styles.

Graybill currently serves as President of The Classical Mandolin Society of America, a 501(3)(c) non-profit corporation with members in most states and 11 countries. The Society was formed in 1987 ''To promote the study and playing of the family of Mandolin instruments and the playing of the music written for those instruments.'' He is primarily self taught as a Mandolinist, but has had the privilege of limited Jazz Mandolin studies with Don Stiernberg, and Classical Mandolin studies with Keith Harris (Austria), Gertrud Weyhofen (Germany), Ugo Orlandi (Italy), and Tamara Volskya (Russia).

Graybill is an endorsing artist for Weber Mandolins, made by Sound to Earth Ltd. of Logan, Montana, and a BMI Publisher member (Mando Kinetics Music). He performed his composition, the "Walnut Valley Suite", with the Providence Mandolin Orchestra at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, in 1999. Other notable performances include The Grand Ole Opry, and Classical Mandolin Society conventions in Atlanta, Louisville, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, San Diego, Washington DC, and Toronto. His composition, the "Walnut Valley Suite" for Mandolin Orchestra, has been performed in Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Japan, and the United States. The Suite was recorded on the Providence Mandolin Orchestra CD release "Resonance" in 2000.

Other recordings include his solo debut, "Mandocranium, an acoustic stringed fantasy" in 1992, and part of the CD "Live Bluegrass from the heart of America."
