Recorded in true blues fashion, live, with a minimum of overdubs and full of passion, Confessin'' the Blues showcases Melbourne''s finest roots musicians. The CD has a mix of Chicago and New Orleans''s blues and R&B, some gospel and a few acoustic and country numbers. Along with some old time standards there are five original tunes on the album, written by Ron Tabuteau, Andy Baylor, Nick Langton, Andrew Pendlebury, Sarah Carroll and Kerri Simpson.

THE PLAYERS

Dean Addison (bass) - featured on the Diesel Wilson / Short Cool Ones and has since released his own CD "Use Your Head" with his own band Hidden Charms. Recently he has played with diverse acts such as My Friend the Chocolate Cake and Andreas Botticelli.

John Watson (drums) - an original member of Australian Crawl, John has played with Australia''s biggest bands. He also has a reputation for accompanying fine singers such as the Bull Sisters and Renee Geyer.

Ken Farmer (percussion) - long time member of the Paramount Trio who have several vinyl records and CD''s released, Ken has been playing around the Melbourne and London scene for years. Together with wife Chris, Ken formed the Mudcats back in the mid 80''s.

Andy Baylor (guitar) - extraordinary musician and songwriter Andy released his "Arcadiana" in Dec 2000. This follows "The Bush is Full of Ghosts" which featured his original material and his releases with the Dancehall Racketeers, Cajun Combo and Banana Oil. Andy plays mandolin and banjo competently, and on this album is featured on guitar, 12 string and violin.

Ron Tabuteau (guitar) - previously a member of legendary Oz blues outfit the Fourday Riders. He has also played with or supported overseas acts such as Muddy Waters, BB King, Buddy Guy, Freddy King, Hound Dog Taylor, Hi-Tide Harris, Bo Diddley and Charlie Musselwhite.
He is about to release his second CD of original tunes in 2001, playing guitar and dobro with his band Chicken Head.

Andrew Pendlebury (guitar) - a member of Sports, co-writing most of the bands tunes. During the 90''s he released several albums with Doug De Vries as well as producing soundtracks for theatre productions.

Dai Jones (guitar) - they call him Jukebox Jones his reportoire is so extensive. Featuring with the Swingin Sidewalks and the Kings of Swing , Dai has been a stalwart of the local music scene.

Chris Wilson (harmonica) - "The Big One", Chris should need no introduction with a voice as mighty as his harmonica playing. He has released several albums with his band Crown of Thorns and solo with Johnny Diesel. Nominated for several Aria awards, Chris released his latest CD "Spiderman" in Dec 2000.

Mike Andrews (piano) - King of Boogie Woogie and Stride piano Mike has featured on Dancehall Racketeers and Swingin Sidwalks recordings amongst others.

Mick O''Connor (hammond) - Melbourne''s foremost Hammond organ player, he features on more albums than can be named.

Karl Hird (saxaphone) - his name is forever associated with New Orleans music. Playing saxaphone and clarinet with his parents Pam and Llew, Karl spent his youth touring around the world with them. He has released several solo CD''s and recordings with Pam and Llew.

Steve Dagg (saxaphone) - hailing from Sydney originally, Steve is a longtime member of the Flyright Trio, specialising in 30''s and 40''s jazz .

Bruce Sandel and Dean Hilson (saxaphones) - feature in the Swingin Sidewalks .

Eugene Ball (trumpet) and Ben Gillespie (trombone) star in their band the Hoodangers. Popular in Russia and Europe they are often touring oversea''s during our winter months. The Hoodangers have released several CD''s. Eugene and Ben have also written film soundtracks.
