"The best American singer-songwriter to emerge out of the late ''90''s -- and the only one worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence with Paul Simon, James Taylor, Cat Stevens and Nick Drake."
| Zeke Piestrup, VH-1''s "Fresh Pick of the Week"

"Greetings From the Side" is the critically acclaimed debut album from singer-songwriter Gary Jules, whose highly successful 2002 independent release "Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets" has been a Top 10 Seller at CDBaby for more than a year, and continues to win the praise of audiences and critics around the country and the world.

In the last year Jules'' tireless tour schedule has found him sharing the stage with Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings, Jewel, Jason Mraz, Sheryl Crow, and Todd Rundgren. November 2003 will see releases of ''Snakeoil'' in Europe and Australia with comprehensive tours to follow.

If you have seen Gary Jules and the Group Rules in person then the songs from "Greetings from the Side" will be familiar to you. Longtime crowd favorites "Barstool", "Bluefish", "Ghosts", Nothing", "Push", and the title track "Greetings from the Side" are all from this hard-to-find debut.

We at https://www.tradebit.com buy these factory-sealed, original-pressing, out-of-print copies of ''Greetings'' when and where we can find them -- they are in mint condition, but they are always in extremely limited supply.

An All Music Guide review of ''Greetings'' named Jules "one of the most gifted songwriting talents to surface during the decade", and called the album "a promising, powerful collection of songs". It was produced by Snakeoil co-producer and Donnie Darko score composer Michael Andrews, and mixed by industry heavy Tchad Blake (Sheryl Crow et al), and boasts performances from Karl Denson (Karl Denson''s Tiny Universe. Greyboy Allstars), Robert Walter (Robert Walter''s 20th Congress, Greyboy Allstars), and master player/producer Michael Andrews (Greyboy Allstars, Elgin Park).

''Greetings'' arrived to the delight of critics and fellow musicians in August 1998, but barely saw the light of day, having been released just weeks before A&M and its parent company, Polygram, were sold to MCA/Universal in a now legendary music industry merger. Still, the title track was prominently featured in Timothy Hutton''s film "Digging to China" starring Kevin Bacon, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Faye Dunaway.

Shelved before it ever got the chance to receive the attention it deserved, ''Greetings'' has been heavily traded, burned, and downloaded for years -- and now it''s available in its original form, with the original artwork, photos, and printed lyrics.
